During the meeting, the sides considered issues of cooperation, including establishing educational support to privatization and corporate management development with attraction of foreign universities and educational centers.
Uzbekistan currently is reviewing the presence of the Government in economy and improvement corporate management via introducing international standards.
The Uzbek Committee strengthened its work on introduction of foreign experience in corporate management and training specialists in this direction, as well as protection interest of minority shareholders. In particular, the committee in cooperation with the World Bank and the IFC organized roundtable on improving corporate management and privatization in March 2015.
During the talks, the Uzbek side underlined importance of educational support to privatization and development of corporate management in Uzbekistan. In particular it is necessary to organize education of Uzbek specialists in foreign universities, organize educational courses in Tashkent with attraction of foreign experts and internships.
The World Bank mission briefed the Uzbek side on experience of the bank on cooperation with universities and education centers and noted that the bank will develop a concept of cooperation with the State Competition Committee and presented to the Uzbek side for consideration.
The sides agreed to be in contact to further speed up solving of all organizational and technical issues related with launch of cooperation between the State Competition Committee and the World Bank in educational support of privatization and corporate management development in Uzbekistan.
