Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The Government of Uzbekistan adopted a resolution “On additional measures to improve the quality and safety of metal products for construction purposes”.
In accordance with the resolution, starting from 1 March 2020, it is forbidden to import in the Republic of Uzbekistan used induction furnaces and chambers (HS code 8514 20 1000), the production year of which exceeds 3 years at the time of customs clearance. To confirm the year of manufacture of imported induction furnaces and chambers during customs clearance, a technical passport of the manufacturer is provided, which includes relevant information on the date of release of the equipment.
Starting from 1 January 2020, customs payments privileges are canceled for induction furnaces and chambers used for the production of rolled ferrous metals.
Also, by 15 January 2020, a study will be conducted of the activities of enterprises manufacturing steel products for construction purposes with a view to their compliance with the established standards for quality and safety of metal products.
Until 1 March 2020, measures will be taken to modernize testing laboratories to control the quality and safety of metal.
