Share of electrified railroads in Uzbekistan to reach 51% by 2020

Uzbekistan is planning to increase share of electrified railroads up to 51% by the end of 2019, the Ministry of Economy of Uzbekistan said.
The Ministry said that Uzbekistan is realizing the programme on developing and modernizing engineering-communication and road-transport infrastructure for 2015-2019.
Within the programme, it is planned to realize 150 investment projects for US$9.8 billion.
The programme envisages increasing share of electrified railroads from 34% to 51%, the Uzbek Economy Ministry said.
