Seojin Biotech Co., Ltd. to establish the production of biodegradable film for agriculture in Bukhara region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Korea in the format of video conference organized negotiations between the deputy khokim of Bukhara region Rizo Asadov and the head of the South Korean company "Seojin Biotech Co., Ltd." Bark Hoi Yong, Dunyo news agency reported.

In accordance with the agenda of the event, the issue of the possibility of organizing an environmentally friendly biodegradable film for use in agriculture in Bukhara region was discussed.

Asadov said that Uzbekistan annually produces up to 3 million tons of raw cotton, including 300 thousand tons in Bukhara region. At the same time, in the process of growing cotton, polyethylene films are used, which require cleaning the fields after harvesting. In order to increase the yield of cotton, reduce the cost of growing it, as well as protect the environment, the Uzbek side proposed to create in the Bukhara region the production of biodegradable film and other environmentally friendly products.

It was also noted that, taking into account the tourism potential of ancient Bukhara and the development of the service sector for foreign tourists, there is a great demand for biodegradable disposable tableware and other products in hotels, restaurants, museums and other facilities in the region.

Bark Hoi Yong informed about the technological solutions and patents held by Seojin Biotech Co., Ltd. According to him, currently his company produces environmentally friendly biodegradable disposable PET bags for trade and garbage bags, plastic containers and cutlery, plastic film for agriculture (covering, bubble films for greenhouses and others), bubble wrap, packing for clothes and others.

In his opinion, in Uzbekistan, first of all, it is necessary to organize the production of biodegradable film, which can be used in agriculture for sowing crops. This film also makes it possible to retain moisture and reduce water consumption for growing crops. After harvest, there is no need to spend money and time to remove the used film, as it is biodegradable and will not affect the preparation of the land for the next sowing.

As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached to study the technical parameters of the South Korean company’s products.
