Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The adoption of the resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures to further reduce bureaucratic barriers and the introduction of modern management principles in the activities of state bodies and organizations” from 9 December 2019 put an end to office work in state bodies with outdated bureaucratic methods, and also raised to a new level the introduction of modern information technologies in the workflow.

However, dialogue with the people, field studies, analysis of industry legislation and law enforcement practice show that outdated bureaucratic methods are still preserved in the activities of Uzbekistan Airways air ticket offices, especially when selling air tickets. In particular, the Instruction approved by the order of the airline Uzbekistan Airways from 25 October  2015 No. 75 is outdated, the relevant norms contained in it have not been improved, which creates inappropriate, illogical obstacles for citizens.

According to paragraph 3.1 of this Instruction, if citizens want to purchase air tickets for their loved ones at the Uzbekistan Airways ticket offices, they must present the original civil passport. Otherwise, air tickets are not sold to citizens. This creates a number of difficulties, especially for those whose loved ones live in other areas, and the number of fair objections from passengers is growing every day.

However, through the website of the joint-stock company Uzbekistan Airways uzairways.online, it is possible to purchase an air ticket online legally indicating the serial number and validity period of the civil passport.

Taking into account the above, as well as in order to rid the country's population of unnecessary and artificial barriers and red tape, as well as to prevent corruption cases in the sale of air tickets, the chairman of the Senate Committee on Defense and Security of the Oliy Majlis, K. Burkhanov, sent a senatorial request to the acting chairman of the board of the joint-stock company Uzbekistan Airways to I. Makhkamov.

It proposes to take measures to make changes to simplify the established requirements for the purchase of air tickets in Instruction No. 75, approved by the order of the Uzbekistan Airways airline from 25 October 2015, and provide data on the results.
