Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Over 4,500 tonnes of dried apricots have been exported from Samarkand region, Dunyo news agency reported.
This type of product is exported mainly to Iraq, Turkey, Russia, Belarus and Ukraine.
For the first 9 months of this year, entrepreneurs of the Samarkand region exported dried apricots for a total amount of about US$5.8 million.
According to the general director of Caravan Gardens Jamshid Abdullayev, quoted at the international conference Umid Reunion 2.020, Uzbekistan ranks second in the world in the cultivation of bargak (dried apricots without pits).
It should be noted that today about 106 enterprises of the region have established the export of dried apricots.
