Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Already in October 2020, Jizzakh Automobile Plant LLC will present the second brand from the VOLKSWAGEN concern - ŠKODA.

The first ŠKODA car in Uzbekistan will be the 2021 full-size SUV ŠKODA KODIAQ, presented in two trim levels: a five-seater Ambition and a seven-seater Style. For the domestic market, this model is offered with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with a capacity of 180 hp. and a torque of 320 Nm, a robotic seven-speed DSG gearbox of the latest generation, all-wheel drive and a panoramic sunroof.

Commenting on the event, Sardor Tadjiev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Uzavtosanoat, noted: “The good news is the rapid departure of the Uzbek car industry from the mono-brand paradigm, as well as the fact that this phenomenon is due to purely market factors. In fact, already now our consumers can choose from several global brands. I am deeply convinced that the industry as a whole will only benefit from the presence of manufacturers who have proven themselves in the world in terms of quality and safety. I would like to note that the debut model of ŠKODA was awarded the highest rating by experts in the field of safety: according to the results of independent tests of the European New Car Assessment Program, this SUV was awarded the highest rating - five stars”.

Special attention is planned to be paid to the distribution and service processes. Thus, two ŠKODA dealerships (Sergeli Autocenter and Driver’s Village) are being prepared for opening in the capital at once, and the construction of another one (Kokand Auto Trade) is being completed in Kokand. In these salons it will be possible not only to purchase a car, but also to undergo warranty and post-warranty service.

The prices for the cars will be announced in October, at the same time it will be possible to pre-order by paying part of the cost of the car. Deliveries of the first cars are expected at the end of November this year.

The history of the ŠKODA brand began in 1895 with the repair and production of bicycles. Ten years later, its first car, the Voiturette A, was presented. In the 1920s, the company, which was named after its founders Vaclav Laurin and Vaclav Klement, merged with the large industrial enterprise ŠKODA, and in the early 1990s became part of the VOLKSWAGEN concern. Today the company from Mlada Boleslav is one of the main locomotives of the economy of the Czech Republic, the cars produced by it enjoy the well-deserved trust and recognition of consumers around the world.
