Russian partners are interested in further expanding cooperation in the textile sector

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - A business forum and cooperation exchange were held at the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Russian Federation in the form of a “road show”, in which representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Industry, PJSC Roslegprom, and the banking financial institutions, the all-Russian public organization "Business Russia", as well as manufacturing and trade-purchasing enterprises.

During the business forum, a wide presentation of the production, investment and export potential of the enterprises of the Uztekstilprom Association was held. The prospects for further expansion of the Association’s cooperation with Russian partners and regions were discussed, including in the framework of the bilateral intergovernmental Agreement “On Cooperation in the Textile, Sewing and Knitting Industries”.

A cooperation exhibition organized a mini-exhibition of textile samples, which aroused keen interest among the guests of the event. As a result of negotiations, domestic textile enterprises entered into firm contracts worth more than US$3 million. In addition, such enterprises as Neil Granite, Bunyodkor Textile, Aria Tex, MinMax, Imron Textile, Beck Nur Class, Aksar Textile Group, Simex Progress, Uztekstileksport, concluded framework agreements and arrangements with more than 20 Russian enterprises for the export of a wide range of products and assortment of textile and hosiery products.

On the sidelines of the kind of show, the prospects for establishing cooperation between the Uztekstilprom Association were discussed:

- with Sberbank of Russia - for trade and investment financing in the implementation of joint projects of domestic textile enterprises and their Russian partners;

- with the company "Old Square" - to saturate its trading network with domestic textile goods;

- with the company TDL Textile (Ivanovo) - for the implementation of the project it is developing to create in Uzbekistan the production of fabrics for its own needs;

- with the Shebekinsky Industrial Chemistry company - to establish supplies and further localize the production of chemicals used for the production, decoration and dyeing of textile products.

In general, the participants in the events noted the high organizational level of the events held and expressed wishes for expanding the practice of holding them, which contributes to the wide informing of Russian partners about the potential of domestic enterprises, and the establishment and expansion of their bilateral cooperation.
