Russian envoy hands over medal to World War II veteran
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
On 2 May 2015, Ambassador of Russia to Uzbekistan Vladimir Tyurdenov and attaché on defense issues of Russia Andrei Grafov visited citizen of Russia N. Semikov, a veteran of World War II, who lives in Tashkent.
Vladimir Tyurdenov handed over a medal “The 70th Victory in World War II 1941-1945” on his 100th birthday. He also handed over congratulation message of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Russian envoy said that the 100th birthday is a landmark milestone in the life. He stressed that Russia respects people, who contributed to the victory over fascism with great sacrifices and later contributed to rehabilitation of economy of the country.
