Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The retail trade turnover reached 103.51 trillion soums in January-July 2020 and decreased, compared to the same period of 2019, by 2.9%, also the turnover of large enterprises made up 18.81 trillion soums (growth rate - 23.6%), and small business and private entrepreneurship – 84.7 trillion soums (growth rate - 92.7%), including unorganized trade made up 6,025.5 billion soums (growth rate - 62.9%).

In the structure of the republic’s retail trade turnover, a significant share is noted in the city of Tashkent, which is 22.6%, or 23.42 trillion soums.

Compared to the same period of last year, retail trade decreased in Ferghana (-5.5%), Namangan (-6.2%), Syrdarya (-6.4%), Khorezm (-10.6%) and Surkhandarya (-11.5%) regions. Along with this, insignificant growth rates were recorded in the Tashkent (+0.7%) region and the city of Tashkent (+3.3%).

The share of small business and private entrepreneurship, in comparison with other regions, was the largest in Syrdarya (94.1%), Kashkadarya (93.6%), Surkhandarya (91.1%), Namangan (89.5%), Ferghana (89.2%) regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (89.8%). In the structure of retail trade turnover, the share of turnover of large enterprises made up 18.2% of the total sales, their main share was observed in Tashkent (33.6%), Samarkand (21.2%), Navoi (18.8%) and Khorezm (18.3%) regions.

The retail turnover per capita in the republic in January-July 2020 averaged 3.04 million soums (compared to the same period of last year, it decreased by 4.7%).

This indicator, in comparison with other regions, was more recorded in the city of Tashkent (9.01 million soums), Navoi (3,.91 million soums) and Tashkent (3.77 million soums) regions.

According to preliminary data from a survey of individuals involved in the sale of agricultural products, poultry and livestock (grown and kept in personal subsidiary plots), conducted in January-July 2020, the trade turnover in dekhkan markets made up 3.29 trillion soums, livestock markets – 2.73 trillion soums.

High sales of fresh agricultural products reached 1.35 trillion soums.

The sale of livestock of different ages reached 2.16 trillion soums, sheep and goats - 494.3 billion soums, horses - 59.7 billion soums, birds - 14.7 billion soums.

In January-July 2020, the share of trade turnover of public catering enterprises in the structure of retail trade turnover made up 2.3%, reaching 2.41 trillion soums, and decreased by 20.6% compared to the same period of last year. Of these, 83.1% of the trade turnover falls on the share of small businesses.

The turnover of public trade in the period under review made up 2.41 trillion soums (against January-July 2019 - 79.4%), by type of ownership: non-state – 2.35 trillion soums and state - 68.3 billion soums. Compared to the same period of last year, the turnover of public enterprises of state ownership decreased from 4.9% to 2.8%.

According to preliminary data, in January-July 2020, the volume of wholesale trade reached 56.4 trillion soums and, compared to the same period of last year, the decrease was 6.8%. The turnover of wholesale trade of small businesses, according to statistical calculations, made up 39.88 trillion soums and, compared with the corresponding period of last year, decreased by 12.8%. The share of this sector in the wholesale trade turnover in the republic made up 70.7%.

The highest growth rates of the wholesale turnover of large enterprises, compared with last year, were observed in Tashkent (197.9%), Andijan (126.3%), Surkhandarya (118.4%) and Samarkand (117.6%) areas.

In recent years, the role of the public sector in the total volume of wholesale trade has been steadily decreasing. So, for the reporting period, the share of this sector was fixed at the level from - 0.10% to - 0.11% of the total volume of wholesale trade. The wholesale trade turnover in January-July 2020 made up 56.4 trillion soums, including subjects of non-state subordination – 56.34 trillion soums, state subordination - 59.6 billion soums.

An analysis of the share of wholesale trade by type of ownership showed that there is still an insignificant share of state ownership in Tashkent (0.19%), Navoi (0.12%), Andijan (0.03%) regions. In other regions, wholesale trade is generally non-state.
