Retail trade turnover in Uzbekistan grows by 2.7% in 1Q

The share of turnover of large enterprises amounted to 12.8% and the growth rate to the previous year increased by 22.4%.

The increase in growth rates over the same period last year was observed for all regions of the republic. In particular, the highest growth rate in Khorezm (7%), Navoi (6.5%), Andijan (5.3%), Ferghana (3.5%) and Jizzakh (3.3%) relatively low growth rate in Kashkadarya (0.4%), Tashkent (0.9%) and Samarkand regions (1%).

Positive impact on the increase in retail sales was provided by regions with high shares of turnover, such as the Tashkent city (21.9%), Tashkent (9.9%), Ferghana (8.5%), Andijan (8.5%) and Samarkand (8.2%) regions.

Retail turnover, including turnover of food enterprises, per capita increased by 1%, and amounted to 827,900 soums (in January-March 2017 - 669,000 soums).

The highest average per capita turnover was registered in Tashkent (2.39 million soums), Navoi (1.08 million soums) and Tashkent (937,000 soums) region.

The retail turnover of food enterprises amounted to 717.5 billion soums, or increased by 6.4%. Specific gravity turnover of food enterprises in the total turnover of retail trade amounted to 2.6%.

Retail trade turnover of small business increased by 0.3% to the level of the same period last year. Share of sales in total turnover of retail trade amounted to 87.2%. Out of the total volume of small business turnover, the sale of goods in unorganized trade amounted to 3.11 trillion soums. The specific gravity of this sector in the total volume of goods turnover was 11.5%.

The highest share of sales in total turnover was recorded in Syrdarya region – 94.5%, Jizzakh region - 94.1%, Kashkadarya region – 93.4%, Navoi region – 92.5%, Karakalpakstan – 92.3%, and the lowest specific weight in Tashkent – 74.8%, Khorezm region – 80.5% and other regions.
