Republican Working Group Reviews Promising Tourism Projects in Syrdarya Region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A Republican Working Group headed by Abdulaziz Akkulov, Chairman of the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, together with representatives of the tourism sector, paid a working visit to the Syrdarya region.

During the visit, the group reviewed projects aimed at creating new ecotourism facilities, as well as expanding the range of tourism and service offerings along the Tashkent–Samarkand highway.

As part of the program, the working group examined the Sohil Makon ecotourism complex project located in the “Kamolot” mahalla of the Syrdarya district.

The project предусматривает comprehensive development of a 75-hectare land plot based on a master plan, including the creation of active recreation facilities, wellness services, water recreation zones, and walking routes.

The next site visited was the Ravon Arena recreation area, where the results of completed works and plans for the second phase of the project were reviewed. The upcoming phase envisages the introduction of additional types of services.

Another stop on the itinerary was a former recreation facility currently under reconstruction on the banks of the Syrdarya River in the “Kamolot” mahalla. The project includes the creation of summer and winter swimming areas, seven apartment hotels for family and group recreation, children’s playgrounds, a mini-zoo, sports grounds, and fishing areas.

The working group also familiarized itself with tourism and service facilities operating within the recreation zone in the “Orikzor” mahalla of Saykhunabad district. Results of tourist reception activities and future development plans were presented. To ensure year-round utilization of the facility, recommendations were given on organizing winter operation of swimming areas and expanding the range of services.

In addition, the group examined conditions created by local entrepreneurs at the melon and agricultural produce market located along the Tashkent–Samarkand highway, as well as opportunities for integrating this market into the region’s tourism infrastructure.
