Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A resolution of the President "On measures to develop entrepreneurship in the Khorezm region and increase its investment attractiveness" was adopted.

In accordance with the resolution, 84 investment projects with a total value of 2.2 trillion soums, as well as 26 promising investment projects with a total value of US$516.8 million will be implemented in Khorezm region in 2020-2022.

Until 1 April 2021, along with 26 promising large investment projects, additional new industrial production projects will be launched in each district of the region.

The territories of the free economic zone "Khazarasp" have been determined, expanding due to unused land plots in agriculture.

According to the resolution, the corresponding diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan abroad are assigned to the FEZ.

The assigned embassies, together with the regional khokimiyat, will place new investment projects in the Khazarasp free economic zone through foreign direct investment.

Under the khokimiyat of Khorezm region, an infrastructure fund is being created without forming a legal entity. Its funds will be used to finance the construction of infrastructure in the extended territories of the FEZ.

Starting from 1 September 2020, a 50 percent discount will be introduced on tariffs for rail freight export transportation of exporters between Khorezm region and the city of Tashkent.
