Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 9 January, Deputy Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade B. Abidov held talks with IDS BORJOMI International Vice President Jan Gromyko, the largest producer of natural mineral water, a leader in the category of bottled water in the CIS and Baltic countries.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss prospects for cooperation and further development plans for the company, whose representative office in Uzbekistan was opened last year.

The parties noted an increase in the volume of trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Georgia. So, over the 11 months of 2019, trade between the countries reached US$112 million, which is US$58 million more than in the same period of 2018.

In accordance with the Agreement on free trade between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Republic of Georgia from 4 September 1995, the parties provide each other with a free trade regime and do not apply customs duties in mutual trade.

In addition, representatives of IDS BORJOMI International raised the issue of applying tariff measures for mineral water imported to the republic.

Following the talks, the parties agreed on further cooperation and interaction on a number of issues.
