Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A South Korean delegation headed by the First Deputy Chairman of the Korean-Uzbek Business Association under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of the Republic of Korea Kim Chang Keon is in the city of Ferghana on a working visit, Dunyo news agency reported.
This visit, organized by our Embassy of Uzbekistan in Seoul on the initiative of the khokim of Ferghana region, Shukhrat Ganiev, is aimed at holding negotiations to discuss the activation of joint investment projects and agreements reached following the official visit to the city of Seoul on July 6-8 of this year of the delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan headed by the deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov.
On 23 September, in the city of Ferghana, the official opening ceremony of the representative office of the Korean-Uzbek Business Association in the Ferghana region was held. At the event, the main guests were the khokim of the Ferghana region Shukhrat Ganiev and the first deputy chairman of the Association Kim Chang Keon.
The event was also attended by the deputy khokim of the region Muhsinkhuja Abdurakhmonov, the head of the representative office of the Korean-Uzbek Business Association in the Ferghana region, Yun Joon Sok, the founder and rector of the Korean International University in Ferghana Park Jun-ho, the executive director of Evergreen Motors Kim Ik Dong also responsible employees of the khokimiyat and representatives of the regional business community.
“The representative office created in a short time will serve a noble cause - the establishment of mutual economic cooperation, the implementation of investment projects, the creation of a platform for dialogue and the establishment of direct contacts between South Korean and Ferghana entrepreneurs. This is an important step towards the prosperity of our country. Undoubtedly, these events will give impetus to further expansion, strengthening of interaction and successful implementation of joint projects,” said the khokim Shukhrat Ganiev in his speech.
The participants of the event got acquainted with the premises, which were provided free of charge by the khokimiyat of Ferghana region, as well as the conditions created for various events with the participation of South Korean and domestic companies. An agreement was reached to start the activities of the Representative Office on 1 October.
At the same time, this institution will coordinate the implementation of all investment projects implemented with the support of the Korean-Uzbek Business Association.
