Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In accordance with the order of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 21 January 2021, information on the ongoing reforms in the field of public procurement should be communicated to the responsible employees of territorial treasury departments and public procurement units and through them to government customers, budget customers and business entities in regions and cities.

In order to ensure the systematic improvement of their knowledge and skills, the Department of Public Procurement of the Treasury of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, together with the training center for training and retraining of employees of financial and settlement units of financial bodies and budgetary organizations under the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, organizes training seminars for employees of territorial treasury units.

During the seminar, the participants got acquainted with the stages of the public procurement process, in particular, planning public procurement, implementing procurement procedures, concluding and executing contracts and monitoring public procurement. Also, during the meeting, topics such as the basic principles of public procurement, government customers and e-procurement were widely covered.

Along with this, information was provided on the "electronic training course on public procurement", the mechanism of the central portal of public procurement, where it is planned to create public procurement, electronic competition and tender.

As a result of the seminar, it was noted that in order to ensure the openness of the public procurement system, reduce the interference of the human factor through the widespread use of modern information technologies in the field, a draft law "On public procurement" in a new edition was prepared, which was approved by the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and introduced to the Senate.

The training seminar provides detailed information on the current state of public procurement and ongoing reforms. Also, the participants of the seminar give explanations on the problems arising in the implementation of public procurement, as well as on issues and proposals for improving the sphere.
