Railway companies of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan discuss new cooperation plans

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Delegations of Uzbekistan Temir Yollari and Rohi Ohani Tojikiston held a meeting in Tashkent.

According to the press service of Uzbekistan Temir Yollari, the meeting was held in order to consistently develop bilateral relations, as well as to further strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation.

The sides paid special attention to the conduct of freight and passenger transportation and increase in the volume of transit cargo, on a contractual basis. Also they considered issues of providing bilateral discounts for 2019.

It was noted that each country will create new opportunities for increasing freight and passenger traffic on the railway. During the meeting, the outlined issues were comprehensively discussed and important tasks were identified for their implementation.

So, in 2018, between the two countries, preferences were provided for a number of freight services, including discounts on import and export shipments. In turn, comfortable conditions for the carriage of passengers were also created.

Following the meeting, a protocol of intent was signed.
