Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The government of Uzbekistan is taking all necessary measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus form COVID-19 in Uzbekistan. The temporary cessation of passenger traffic in the republican and interstate railway traffic was also among the necessary measures taken.

However, the domestic passenger carrier - O’ztemiryo’lyo’lovchi JSC did not stop working for a single day these days. As you know, in order to prevent the penetration and spread of the coronavirus COVID-19 infection in Uzbekistan, citizens who returned from abroad were quarantined in various medical institutions in several regions of our country.

After the end of the quarantine period, our compatriots are transported to their places of residence (by region, city) on specially organized trains. Passenger transportation is carried out daily in carefully disinfected wagons. Points of departure and arrival are different cities of our country, including remote regions.

So far, over 16 thousand people have been transported in total. Today, as of 4 May, it is planned to take another 500 people to their destinations with special passenger trains.
