Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A draft resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On radical improvement of the transport management system in the city of Tashkent" has been published on the portal for discussing draft regulatory documents of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

This document is aimed at cardinal improvement of the public administration system in the field of urban transport in Tashkent, strategic development of public transport and ensuring its sustainable functioning. It is also planned to improve the safety and quality of passenger traffic, the widespread introduction of modern information and communication technologies in the management of passenger transport, strengthening the financial and economic position of transport organizations.

According to the project, the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan will organize the Main Department of Transport of the city of Tashkent on the basis of the Department of Transport of the city of Tashkent.

This department will implement projects for the development of public transport, including the organization of high-speed bus routes (BRT), based on a modern innovative approach, studying the experience of advanced foreign countries. Design and implement development programs to make the metro the main mode of public transport. The tasks of the department will include the development of city programs for the development of transport and road infrastructure, parking, as well as the implementation of these mechanisms.

According to the document, the State Assets Management Agency, together with Uzbekiston Temir Yollari JSC and the Ministry of Transport, will ensure the exclusion of Toshkent Metro UE from the organizational structure of Uzbekiston Temir Yollari JSC in accordance with the established procedure and the inclusion of book value into the organizational structure of the Office at its foundation. 

The project approves the organizational structure of the Main Department of Transport of the city of Tashkent of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The document outlines a number of tasks within the competence of the department, measures for modernization and comprehensive development of the industry.
