Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 10 February 2020, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the Benelux countries Dilyor Khakimov met in Brussels with the chairman of the Netherlands-Uzbek Friendship Fund (UzNed) Dalia Chakar and member of the board of the fund Abdurauf Muchahit.

Established three years ago, the fund regularly holds events in the Netherlands of an economic, cultural, scientific and educational character, thanks to which the general public of the country has the opportunity to get to know the history, modern development, culture, art, economic potential and achievements of Uzbekistan.

During the conversation, the current state of cooperation between UzNed and Uzbekistan, as well as plans for 2020, were examined. The ambassador praised UzNed’s contribution to the development of cooperation with the Netherlands and noted that the Uzbek side is ready for a comprehensive expansion of cooperation.

UzNed chairman Dahlia Chakar said that in order to give an additional incentive to bilateral trade and investment relations, she intends to participate in the Tashkent International Investment Forum on March 5-6.

As part of the negotiations, joint activities for 2020 were also agreed. In particular, it is planned to hold traditional holidays dedicated to the public holidays of Uzbekistan.

In addition, UzNed intends to join in the activities to perpetuate the memory of 101 soldiers who fell victim to the Nazis during World War II in the Amersfoort concentration camp.
