Prosecutor General holds talks with delegation of Investigative Committee of Belarus

During the meeting, the Prosecutor General of Uzbekistan presented information on reforms in the judicial and legal sphere, liberalization of criminal legislation, measures aimed at improving the activities of law enforcement agencies in the Republic of Uzbekistan, the press service of the Uzbek Prosecutor General’s Office said.

In particular, the recent innovations in legislation and initiatives aimed at improving the institutions of pre-investigation checks and inquiries, guaranteeing observance of human rights and freedoms during the collection, verification and evaluation of evidence during the investigation are noted.

The parties exchanged views and experience of the activities of competent bodies to investigate crimes and introduction of information and communication technologies in this process.

Ivan Noskevich expressed deep satisfaction with the dialogue and appreciation for the warm welcome, stressing the importance of this meeting for further development of cooperation in the legal sphere.

As a result of the meeting, the sides signed an Agreement on cooperation between the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus and the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Within the framework of the document, the sides intend to establish effective cooperation in the fight against crime, especially in its organized and transnational forms, as well as in other areas.
