Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Additional forces continue to gather in the flooded areas of the Syrdarya region in order to quickly eliminate the consequences of the natural disaster that occurred on 1 May. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Today, another 400 personnel of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and about 200 units of special equipment arrived at the scene of the emergency, including fire engines and motto pumps for pumping water. In addition, additional forces and resources are being mobilized by the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of the Interior, the National Guard and other services of the State Emergency Service.

At this time, with the help of special equipment, water is being pumped out of households and other infrastructure, while search and rescue operations are continuing. The issue of partial return of people to homes located in safe areas and where the effects of flooding have already been eliminated is already being considered.

It should be noted that today the President of Uzbekistan again visited the epicenter of the disaster, familiarizing himself with the work done and setting new challenges for officials to quickly deal with the effects of the flood.
