Presidential schools to be organized in each region of Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Presidential schools will be organized in each region of Uzbekistan. This was stated by President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev during a meeting in the city of Nukus. This was the press service of the Ministry of Public Education.

“We have set ourselves the priority task of bringing our country to a new level of development, for which we need new generation personnel. In order to educate such personnel, we plan to organize in each region of our country one new type of school - Presidential schools,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

The Minister of Public Education of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov said that at the initiative of the President, the first school will be established in Nukus, Karakalpakstan. He added that in stages, schools will be organized in all regions of the country.

The head of Uzbekistan gave relevant instructions to responsible bodies for the creation of Presidential schools, the minister added.

Presidential schools are being created to identify talented young people in every region of Uzbekistan and provide them with opportunities for development, he said. According to him, in the future, students of the new school will have to contribute to the development of our country.

Sherzod Shermatov said that presidential schools will be specialized in teaching STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) disciplines.

That is, subjects such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and information technology, as well as foreign languages based on advanced educational methodologies will be taught in depth at presidential schools, the minister said.

The head of the Ministry of Public Education of Uzbekistan underlined that foreign specialists will run presidential schools, which should ensure the transparency of the selection of students into presidential schools and quality of the entire educational process. It is also planned to attract foreign teachers and local highly qualified specialists, who will be offered decent working conditions, Sherzod Shermatov added.

Now the relevant ministries and departments will begin work on preparation of the necessary normative acts, which will regulate the activities of presidential schools and the selection of students. Regulations will establish student requirements and selection process, he added.

“Taking this opportunity, I call on foreign specialists and our compatriots, working abroad, who are ready to take part in this project and contribute to the development of education in Uzbekistan. Specialists can send their resumes and proposals by e-mail to expert@xtv.uz,” the Minister stressed.
