President of Uzbekistan Receives Jordanian Senate Delegation Led by Faisal Al-Fayez

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 4 February, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation from the Senate of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, headed by Senate Speaker Faisal Akif Miskal Al-Fayez.

At the start of the meeting, the high-ranking guest conveyed warm greetings and sincere regards from King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein of Jordan.

The sides discussed further development of Uzbek-Jordanian relations as a comprehensive partnership, building on agreements reached at the highest level in Samarkand last year. They noted the growing intensity of bilateral contacts and exchanges, the increase in mutual trade, and the expansion of joint ventures.

The importance of activating the work of parliamentary “friendship groups” under the established roadmap was emphasized, highlighting their role in ensuring effective implementation of agreements between the two heads of state. Special attention was given to expanding cooperation in trade, industrial collaboration, tourism, and the cultural and humanitarian spheres.

In this context, the need for successful conduct of the upcoming first session of the Intergovernmental Commission and the business forum of leading companies in Tashkent was stressed. The parties also exchanged views on current international and regional issues.
