President of Uzbekistan Arrives in Qatar

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has arrived in Doha for a working visit at the invitation of the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

At Hamad International Airport, the head of state was welcomed by Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and other senior officials. An honor guard was lined up, and the national flags of both countries were raised in tribute to the distinguished guest.

According to the visit program, on 4 November the President of Uzbekistan will take part in the Second World Summit on Social Development.

It is expected that Shavkat Mirziyoyev will present several initiatives aimed at reducing poverty, increasing employment, strengthening social justice and inclusiveness, developing education, as well as adapting to climate change and enhancing societal resilience.

High-level bilateral meetings are also planned on the sidelines of the summit.
