President of Kazakhstan approves amendments to agreement with Uzbekistan on border crossing points
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev signed a law “On ratification of the protocol on introducing changes and amendments to the protocol to the Uzbek-Kazakh agreement on crossing points at the state borders of two states from 4 September 2006”.
The protocol envisages inclusion of Maktaaral station to list of crossing points at the Uzbek-Kazakh state border.
The point allows to transportation of Kazakh cargo from Syrdarya water reservoir with use of transit railway area of Uzbekistan.
The Uzbek side does not allow to transit Kazakh trains on this direction as the Maktaaral point was not included to the protocol. After the signing protocol, the problem was solved.
The document envisages cutting number of automobile crossing points from 10 to 6 crossing points.
