President Approves Artificial Intelligence Development Strategy Through 2030
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 1 December, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation on the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in healthcare, education, transportation, and the space sector.
In October, Uzbekistan adopted the Decree “On Additional Measures for AI Development” and the Resolution “On the AI Development Strategy Until 2030,” establishing the necessary conditions for infrastructure and specialist training. A dedicated center has been opened under the Ministry of Digital Technologies, and a supercomputer cluster project is being implemented in cooperation with the U.S. company Nvidia.
In healthcare, five AI projects are underway. The use of AI for detecting stroke and breast cancer reduces diagnostic time by 80%, enabling early identification of life-threatening conditions. The program is planned to expand to include liver, lung, and prostate cancers, heart attacks, and complex bone fractures.
From the new academic year, AI educational programs will start in schools, colleges, and universities. A virtual teacher assistant is being introduced to help create lectures, tests, lesson plans, and manage examinations.
In transportation, systems for automatic detection of traffic violations and monitoring the technical condition of railway cars are being considered.
In the space sector, the launch of the AI-equipped satellite Samarkand-2028 is planned for remote sensing of Earth, monitoring air quality, agriculture, and forests.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the President instructed to accelerate project implementation and expand AI applications across the economy and social sectors.
