Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A sharp drop in temperature caused the shutdown of two power units of the Turakurgan TPP, which occurred today, on 20 November at 15:51 p.m. As a result of the shutdown, the power supplied to the power system through this station decreased by 600 MW.
As a result, there were automatically restrictions in the supply of electricity in the city of Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Kashkadarya regions. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy
A sharp drop in air temperature led to freezing of the impulse line of the measuring sensors in the high-pressure drum of Block 2, as a result of which the water level rose sharply and the system made an emergency stop. Unit 1 stopped due to frequency decrease.
To cover the shortage of electricity at the Takhiatash TPP at 16:30, power unit No. 1 with a capacity of 280 MW was put into operation. It is currently operating at 30 MW. By 22:00 it will be brought to a capacity of 200 MW.
At 4:11 pm, a 450 MW gas turbine of Unit 2 was launched at the Talimarzhan TPP. It is currently operating at full capacity of 300 MW.
Also, from the moment of stopping at the Turakurgan TPP, the frost protection sensors are being adjusted, as a result of which at 17:50 the 2nd unit is connected to the system. At the moment it provides a capacity of 150 MW, by 19:00 its capacity will be 250 MW. Unit 1 will be commissioned today from 19:30 and will provide the system with a capacity of 200 MW. As a result, by 21:00 today, these power units will have a capacity of 700 MW.
Also, due to a power outage today at 15:45, 4 gas-pumping units at the Zirabulak compressor station and at the Gallaorol compressor station were temporarily stopped. By 4:35 pm the power supply was restored and the compressor stations returned to normal operation.
