Power Machines OJSC and the Urta-Chirchik HPP Cascade unitary enterprise, a part of the Uzbekenergo State Joint Stock Company (Uzbekistan), signed a contract to retrofit four hydro units at Charvak HPP in 2011.
In line with the contract, the Russian company retrofitted the hydro mechanical equipment of regulators and oil pressure installations, as well as renovated automatic control systems with creation of the system of visual monitoring and control system at the HPP level.
The Russian power engineering company should also produce three hydro turbine impellers for hydro units No. 1, 2 and 4 and modernization hydro generators, including the replacement of their stators winding and installation of new excitation systems.
Power Machines said that it is planning to complete supply of equipment in 2015.
Implementation of the project on modernization of Charvak HPP will allow to increase its capacity by 45 megawatts and improve reliability of the station and improve its exploitation characteristics.
Charvak hydropower station is located in northern Tashkent in spur of Western Tien Shan, which is main and the most powerful (620 megawatt) hydropower station in Chirchiq-Bozsu cascade. It has four hydraulic units, mixed-flow turbines and generators, which were also produced at enterprises of OJSC Power Machines.
