Power Machines completes the stage of comprehensive testing of power unit No. 6 of Syrdarya TPP

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- After the modernization carried out by Power Machines, the sixth power unit of the largest power plant in Central Asia has successfully passed the stage of comprehensive testing and is preparing for commissioning. At the same time, Power Machines specialists continue to install the supplied equipment at power unit 5.

Tests to confirm the warranty indicators of power units No. 5 and No. 6 are planned for the period until the end of 2020, with the subsequent commissioning of power units.

The modernization of six power units of the Syrdarya TPP is being carried out in three stages with an increase in the total capacity of the station from 1800 to 1950 MW. To date, Power Machines has completed the first stage - power units No. 3 and No. 4 have been put into operation. As a result of the modernization in 2019, both power units are equipped with modern equipment with improved performance characteristics and meeting all the requirements of reliability and safety. The service life of the newly supplied turbine units is 40 years, while the capacity of each power unit has been increased by 25 MW - up to 325 MW.

The completion of the modernization of the largest thermal power plant in Central Asia is scheduled for 2021, during which power units No. 9 and No. 10 will be put into operation.

According to the EPC contract signed between Power Machines and Syrdarya TPP, in accordance with the Order of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On measures for the phased modernization of power units of the Syrdarya TPP", the Russian power plant company is carrying out a full-scale modernization of six station power units.

The turnkey scope of work performed by Power Machines includes a comprehensive modernization of turbine, generator, boiler and auxiliary equipment, the introduction of automatic control systems for technological processes, the reconstruction of automatic control systems, a complex of construction, installation and installation supervision.

The main equipment of power units is manufactured by Russian enterprises: Power Machines, TKZ Krasny Kotelshchik, Kaluga Turbine Works. The complex of construction and installation works is carried out by the general subcontractor of Power Machines - Energoresurs.

The implementation of the project will allow to reduce the deficit of electricity in the country, ensure the stable operation of the energy system of Uzbekistan, and positively affect the economic indicators of the region.
