Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Within the framework of the Uzbek-Turkmen forum, held on 4 October 2021 in Tashkent, Uzavtosanoat JSC and Turkmenistan-Motors JSC signed a Memorandum of Intent to organize the production of automotive, agricultural and trailed equipment for the territory of Turkmenistan. Within the framework of the Memorandum, the parties intend to develop industrial cooperation between the two countries.
The Memorandum signing ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Board of JSC "Uzavtosanoat" Shavkat Umurzakov, and Chairman of the Board of JSC "Turkmenistan-Motors" Furkat Aydashev.
The Turkmen side highly appreciated the automotive industry of Uzbekistan and the sides expressed mutual interest in studying the possibility of organizing the production of vehicles in the Republic of Turkmenistan.
Within the framework of this Memorandum, it is planned to further conclude an Agreement on the production of cars by UzAuto Motors JSC at the production facilities of Turkmenistan-Motors JSC. Cooperation in this direction also implies the organization of the production of auto components in Turkmenistan and sales to export markets.
In addition, an agreement was reached on setting up the production of other vehicles (pickups, trucks and buses), agricultural and trailed equipment produced by enterprises that are part of the Uzavtosanoat JSC system.
The implementation of this direction will allow the Turkmen side to create new jobs, increase the share of industry in the structure of GDP, enter export markets, and provide the population with international quality cars.
The parties share common interests and goals in the development and expansion of interstate trade relations, including in the automotive industry. To date, "Uzavtosanoat" is already exporting automotive and commercial equipment to the Republic of Turkmenistan, which has become a reason for interest in strengthening bilateral cooperation and willingness to cooperate in the implementation of a joint project.
