Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation led by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Chavushogli visited Uzbekistan regions such as: Khiva, Bukhara and Samarkand.
The Turkish guests who visited Khiva on 6 March were solemnly welcomed. The Turkish delegation was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan - Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development Aziz Abdukhakimov, Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulaziz Komilov and Hokim of Khorezm Region Farkhod Ermanov.
Cultural events were organized for them at the Ichan Qala complex in Khiva, which is an open-air museum city, and a theatrical performance of the Khorezm regional puppet theater troupe "58-Khan" was performed.
The guests were impressed by the play and the historical monuments that have been a place of knowledge and enlightenment for centuries. It should be noted that after the screening of the historical series "Mendirman Jaloliddin", developed jointly with Turkey, the guests acknowledged that our Turkish brothers have shown great interest in the history of the Khiva Khanate and the oasis.
After that, a delegation led by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Chavushogli visited Bukhara. Here, the guests visited a number of attractions such as Poyi Kalon complex, Mir Arab madrasa, Labi Hovuz complex. They met local artisans and got acquainted with their national products. In addition, theatrical performances at the Ark Fortress were brought to the attention of Turkish guests.
On 7 March representatives of the Turkish delegation arrived in Samarkand, where they attended the opening of the Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey. The opening ceremony was attended by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Chavushogli, Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov, Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Komilov and Hokim of Samarkand region Erkinjon Turdimov.
The opening of the Turkish Consulate General in Samarkand is of great importance. The opening of the diplomatic mission in 2021 is a unique gift for the 30th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence. At the same time, the Consulate General will give a positive impetus to the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries in the cultural, humanitarian, tourism spheres and the development of interregional ties. It should be noted that in 2018, for the first time in its history, flights on the route "Istanbul-Samarkand" were launched. The flight, which was suspended due to the pandemic, will be reopened soon.
The Turkish people are very interested in our great scholars Imam Al-Bukhari, Imam Al-Moturudi, Amir Temur, Mirzo Ulugbek, and the number of tourists coming from this brotherly country to visit our historical cities is growing. In recent years, relations between Uzbekistan and Turkey have been strengthened under the leadership of the two leaders, Shavkat Miromonovich Mirziyoyev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan and have risen to a qualitatively new level - the level of strategic partnership. We are confident that the visit of a delegation led by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Chavushogli to our country will further strengthen these ties.
