O’zAuto-Austem exports products for US$200,000 in 2014

O’zAuto-Austem, an Uzbek-South Korean joint venture, exported goods for US$200,000 in 2014, the press service of Uzavtosanoat (Uzbek Car Industry) said.
O’zAuto-Austem produces steel wheels and chassis parts for the modern vehicles produced at GM Uzbekistan, such as Lacetti, Cobalt and Spark. Its annual capacity is 1 million steel wheels and 123,000 chassis parts for automobiles.
O’zAuto-Austem was registered on 25 February 2011 and started operations on 20 September 2012. The founders of the venture are Korean company Austem Co.Ltd. and Uzbek Joint Stock Company O’zavtosanoat.
O’zAuto-Austem produces steel wheels and chassis parts for the modern vehicles produced at GM Uzbekistan, such as Lacetti, Cobalt and Spark. The venture was created to cut the volume of imports and create new jobs.
Currently, the localization level at the venture makes up 51% on steel wheel production and 47.4% - on chassis parts.
