Only Front Side Windows of Foreign Cars Now Subject to Tinting Fee

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan has amended the procedure for collecting fees on foreign passenger vehicles with tinted windows entering or transiting the country. The changes were registered in the state registry under number 3091-1 on 4 March 2026.

Under the new rules, the fee is no longer applied for changes to the rear or rear-side windows and is now charged exclusively for tinting the front side windows of foreign vehicles during temporary entry or transit through Uzbekistan.

For the convenience of foreign citizens, an online payment option has been introduced via a QR code generated by the automated information system “E-Transit,” in addition to traditional payment at customs checkpoints.
