Online business forum "Uzbekistan-Ukraine" takes place

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In order to discuss further prospects for expanding trade and economic cooperation and industrial cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Ukraine, an online business forum was held on 27 January 2021 with the active assistance of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Ukraine, and also the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the two countries, as well as the Uztekstilprom Association.

The heads of the sectoral management bodies of the textile industry noted their mutual interest in the development of industrial cooperation in the implementation of joint investment projects, expanding the range of exported products, as well as improving the qualifications of personnel. In particular, the Chairman of the Uztekstilprom Association - I. Khaidarov, highly appreciated the current state of development of Uzbek-Ukrainian relations, it was noted that despite the difficult situation in the world associated with the coronavirus pandemic, the textile industry of Uzbekistan was able not only to maintain stable production indicators, but also build on them.

An extensive presentation was held for representatives of the business community, during which the Deputy Chairman of the Association "Uztekstilprom" - D. Rustambekov noted the main directions of the strategy for the development of the textile industry in Uzbekistan. At the end of the presentation, an opportunity was given to ask questions of interest, and an exchange of views took place between Uzbek and Ukrainian manufacturers of textile products, in particular, the issues of supply of textile products, including the formation of chains of industrial cooperation between manufacturers of both countries, supplies of ready-made garment knitted products at the request of Ukrainian customers, the possibility of establishing cooperation in attracting investments for the production of textile products and their sale in the markets of Uzbekistan, Ukraine and third countries. Particular attention was paid to the possibility of establishing cooperation with Ukrainian brands to form orders for tailoring ready-made clothes at the facilities of domestic enterprises.

As a result, an agreement was reached between D. Rustambekov and T. Izovit that the parties will ensure the consolidation of applications and proposals of entrepreneurs for further exchange of views and implementation of specific agreements in the field of product supplies, implementation of investment projects, training, attracting Ukrainian specialists to work on Uzbek enterprises and exchange of innovative proposals in the field of technology.

Following the meeting, the parties decided to develop a joint roadmap for the further development of trade and economic cooperation between the Uztekstilprom Association and the Ukrlegprom Association.
