Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- These days, the Uzbekiston Temir Yollari has organized another media tour. This time, media representatives were able to personally get acquainted with the activities of the livestock and poultry complex "Temiryulobod", which is located in Shavat district of Khorezm region.

As you know, food supply in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the introduction of export restrictions by some countries, the demand for food, especially meat, milk and eggs, has grown not only in our markets, but also in the world. Therefore, a lot of practical work is being done to meet the needs of the population. Auxiliary enterprises and subsidiary farms of Uzbekiston Temir Yollari make a significant contribution to the production of meat, dairy and egg products.

As an introduction, we note that today in the livestock and poultry complexes subordinate to Uzbekiston Temir Yollari, for the benefit of the inhabitants of our country, five farms are fruitfully operating: "Temiryulobod", "Navruz-naslchilik", "Kungirot-Ustyurt", "Gulobod-meva" and "Sardoba".

More than 5,600 heads of cattle, over 800 heads of sheep and goats, 282 heads of horses and camels, about 55 thousand heads of poultry are fed on farms specialized in livestock and poultry farming. The products of these farms (meat, milk, chicken eggs, melons and gourds, vegetables and fruits) are used not only by railway workers (these are the families of over 95 thousand workers in the sector), but also supplied to local dekhkan markets.

Livestock and poultry complex "Temiryulobod", where the media tour was organized, is the largest of its kind. He has 1919 hectares of land at his disposal, of which 1618 hectares have been allocated for sowing, where a high yield of wheat, alfalfa, corn, beets, pumpkins and other crops is obtained annually. A new orchard was established on an area of 27 hectares. For 2020 - 2021, the farm has prepared a stock of 580 tons of alfalfa, 300 tons of hay, 19,500 tons of silage and 200 tons of compound feed.

If we talk about the livestock sector of the economy, then more than 2,200 heads of cattle are bred here, of which 773 are cows. For nine months of this year, the total milk yield amounted to 3150 kg from each cow, 268 heads of cattle were sold, 200 of them were sold to the population. The average weight of each livestock for slaughter is 710 kg. It is noteworthy that in the past period of this year, the number of calves has also increased, their growth amounted to 560 heads. Since the beginning of this year, the poultry farm of the complex has produced 5.7 million eggs.

The journalists were also introduced to the future dairy plant located on the territory of the complex. The plant is planned to be commissioned in January 2021. Currently, equipment is being installed here, the capacity of which is designed to process milk up to 10 thousand tons of milk per day. New equipment brought from Germany will speed up the milk processing process in accordance with modern norms and quality standards. Dairy products - cottage cheese, sour cream, kefir, yoghurts, cheese and butter - will be produced here under its own brand. And most importantly, it is planned to create new jobs here, about 15-20 people will be employed. It is also planned to open a butcher shop, where an additional 15 staff units will also be created.

Undoubtedly, the creative work carried out in this direction is designed to serve both the development of agriculture in our country and ensure the abundance of agricultural products for our people.

During the media tour, the journalists had the opportunity to communicate with representatives of the Temiryulobod livestock and poultry complex and received answers to all their questions.
