OHCHR delegation to hold talks at Uzbek state bodies

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) led by United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid bin Ra’ad Zeid al-Hussein will hold talks at the state bodies of Uzbekistan.

The delegation of OHCHR will pay an official visit to Uzbekistan on 10-12 May.

The delegation of OHCHR will meet officials of the Oliy Majlis (parliament), Ombudsperson, Interior Ministry, Foreign Ministry, Supreme Court, Prosecutor General’s Office, Justice Ministry and National Human Rights Center.

The sides will discuss the current state of cooperation between Uzbekistan and OHCHR, as well as determine the main areas of cooperation and cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

Zeid bin Ra’ad Zeid al-Hussein will deliver a lecture to students at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy and will participate in the Civil Forum with representatives of civil society institutions.
