Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Head of the State Inspectorate of Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance Nurmat Otabekov said that more than 85 thousand citizens of Uzbekistan are currently in quarantine.

Of these, 16,948 people are in stationary quarantine (hospitals, sanatoriums, specially prepared places), 62,408 at home.

At the same time, new visitors from other countries are placed in quarantine, those whose quarantine period was prolonged due to the outbreak of the disease, those involved in the treatment of patients, employees of organizations in which the sick worked, family members, close relatives, and those who was in contact with the infected, - employees of institutions that visited patients, persons involved in the transport of goods to epidemically disadvantaged regions.

It was noted that 500-600 citizens from abroad continue to arrive in the republic every day - through Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan. All of them are quarantined in an organized manner.

According to the speaker, coronavirus infection is mainly found among people in quarantine facilities.
