Number of free economic zones in Uzbekistan to be doubled

In order to achieve this goal in our country, activities of free economic zones will be activated and expanded.

Currently, there are three free zones in Navoi, Jizzakh and Angren regions, they are offering investors privileges and special opportunities for doing business in Uzbekistan. For example in Navoi free economic zone has successfully implemented 24 projects in cooperation with South Korea, Great Britain, Italy, China, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore and Russia in the amount of US$124.2 million of investments, US$34.2 million among them are foreign direct investment.

At the enterprises of the zone are produced and exported more than 100 kinds of products. In the special economic zone "Angren" there are 11 companies. Into them will implement 23 projects totaling US$458 million. In the special economic zone "Jizzakh" introduced 13 projects amounting to US$51 million (more than half - foreign direct investment). This year will be implemented another 11 of projects with involvement investments for US$156 million.

The implementation of these plans will ensure the further development and enhancement of efficiency of our economy in the face of the global financial and economic crisis.
