Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, on 29 October, a solemn opening ceremony in connection with the launch of the large investment project was held at the Shurtan Oil and Gas Production Department.

Khokim of Kashkadarya region Zair Mirzaev, Deputy Minister of Energy Behzod Normatov, Chairman of the Board of JSC Uzbekneftegaz Mehriddin Abdullayev congratulated the audience and noted that this large investment project will provide liquefied gas not only to the Kashkadarya region, but also the economy of our country.

The cost of the project was US$49.0 million, in order to timely implement this project, all forces were mobilized, and even during quarantine, construction work did not stop.

The project is aimed at the production of an additional 61,000 tonnes of propane-butane mixture per year at the existing plants for the production of propane-butane mixture and ensuring the growing demand for this product in the domestic market.

To provide the plant with imported equipment during the modernization, material and technical resources were purchased, such as internal spare parts of the compressor station, control valves (ZRA), measuring and automatic devices (instrumentation), steel pipes, a gas turbine engine of the NK-16 ST type, internal column fittings worth US$19.7 million from the Ukrainian Sumy NPO, the Russian KMPO, NIPI NG, PETON, Electrostandard-instrument, the Swiss Endress + Hauser and other foreign factories.

Within the framework of this project, the Shurtan Oil and Gas Production Directorate replaced gas pumping units and 8 microwave parts of the Ukrainian production "Sumy NPO" with new and modern ones. Installation of 2 С-1Н and С-2Н separators was carried out, as well as complete installation on the column of the K-1 deethanizer to the internal parts of the Russian company "NIPI NG PETON".

A service area with a volume of 7,200 m3 was installed on the territory of the commodity park. Installation works of laboratory equipment were carried out and practical training works were carried out by PE "Fortek" for employees of Shurtansok oil and gas production department.

Construction work was carried out by the General Contractor - Muborakneftgazmontazh.

Shurtan Oil and Gas Production Department was established on 29 October 1980. Today marks 40 years since the creation of the department. In connection with this date, a new museum was opened in the administration. The museum contains information about the activities of the department, the work done and achievements.

The department also launched a dispatch service, the system is fully automated.
