The agenda of talks included the implementation of an investment project for the production of caustic soda and liquid chlorine in the free economic zone "Khazorasp" in Khorezm region. The head of the Malaysian company expressed his commitment to the timely and high-quality implementation of this project and announced that in the near future, measures will be taken with the management of Thyssen Krupp to accelerate the development of a feasibility study of the project.
They also discussed further steps to implement the investment project and worked out the existing practical issues.
The Malaysian investor was reaffirmed the readiness of the Government of Uzbekistan to provide comprehensive and effective support for the high-quality and timely implementation of the investment project. The construction of the plant will significantly strengthen the industrial and export potential of the region, as well as create additional jobs.
As a result of the negotiations, further actions were agreed upon to accelerate the implementation of the project, meaning the launch of work on the construction of the plant in November this year.
Monitoring of the project implementation will be carried out on a regular basis with the participation of the management of the Malaysian company, as well as relevant ministries and departments of Uzbekistan, which will make it possible to promptly identify and resolve problematic issues arising in the process of project implementation.
Serba Dinamik Group Berhad is implementing a project to organize the production of caustic soda and liquid chlorine in the Khazorasp FEZ in Khorezm region, attracting 100% foreign direct investment (US$250 million). The feasibility study of the project is being developed by Thyssen Krupp Uhde Chlorine Engineers s.p.l. (Germany). The production capacity will amount to 33,000 tonnes of caustic soda and 30,000 tonnes of liquid chlorine per year.
