Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On behalf of the Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz, drilling operations are being carried out at the Shortak field within the framework of the Program for the Development and Reproduction of the Hydrocarbon and Raw Material Base.
In particular, in April 2020, drilling began in exploratory well No. 2 of the Shortak field in order to study the oil and gas potential of the Jurassic deposits. The well was drilled to the design depth of 2,800 meters and site-by-site tests were started to determine the oil and gas content.
As a result of well testing in terrigenous-Jurassic sediments in the intervals of 2518-2514 m, 2496-2492 m (XVIII), an industrial flow of natural gas was obtained.
The daily flow rate (with a 14 mm choke) is 112 thousand cubic meters of gas and 1.6 cubic meters of condensate. In the well, survey work was carried out to determine the parameters of the reservoirs. Test work will continue to determine oil and gas content.
The "Shortak" field is located in Karakul district of Bukhara region and was discovered in 2017.
