MPs consider actual issues

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis held a session to discuss actual issues, included to agenda of the lower house of the Uzbek parliament, on 12 March 2015, the press service of the chamber said.

At the session, MPs discussed a programme of organizational-legal issues, legislative and control-analytical work of the Legislative Chamber.

The draft programme was discussed at the session of factions and MPs Group of Ecologic Movement of Uzbekistan, committees of the Legislative Chamber with participation of experts. The programme was elaborated based on received proposals and recommendations.

The parties’ proposals were based on pre-election programmes and events of legislative and control-analytical activities.

In particular, it is planned to consider such draft laws as “On economic bases of activities of mass media”, “On guarantees of state support of mass media”, On television broadcasting”, “On work-out”, “On renewable energy sources”, etc.

MPs will also discuss such draft laws as “On sanitary-epidemiological well-being of population”, “On protection and use of flora”, “On protection and use of fauna” and others.

After discussion, the MPs passed the programme.

Afterwards, the MPs considered a draft law “On introduction of changes to law “On preventing iodine deficit diseases”, which directed at regulating production, realization and consumption of iodine salt to protect health of people. The document envisages preventing and decreasing iodine deficit among population.

Legislative Chamber also discussed a draft law “On state control of activities of entrepreneurship entities”, which is directed at improving procedures on control of activities of business entities, ensuring their stable work and decreasing interference to their activities. MPs also considered a draft law “On introduction of changes to some legislative acts”, which will improve business climate, create favourable investment climate, eliminate barriers before businesses, improve transparency of state bodies, improve doing business in Uzbekistan.

MPs also discussed a draft law “On introduction of changes and amendments to some legislative acts of Uzbekistan” directed at improving activities on non-governmental educational establishments.

Representatives of political parties and MPs Group of Ecological Movement of Uzbekistan expressed their views on considered documents.

MPs approved main concepts of the draft laws and passed them. The committees were entrusted to prepare draft laws to next reading.
