More products from Uzbekistan to appear on the shelves of China Cross-Border e-Commerce Center

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The opening ceremony of the Experimental Center for Cross-Border Electronic Commerce was held in the central part of the Lianyungang Free Trade Zone of Jiangsu Province (China) on 25 August.

Various goods produced in a number of countries participating in OBOR projects, including Uzbekistan, are displayed on the counters of the exhibition site and trading platform of this Center. In particular, on an area of 500 sq. meters, Uzbek products are exhibited for Chinese buyers. The range of food and other products will grow as trade develops.

With the assistance of the diplomatic mission of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the PRC, products of domestic manufacturers such as Natural Juice LLC (juices of 16 different tastes), Jakhon Exim Group LLC (raisins, walnuts, dried apricots, apricot kernel) and Crafers LLC (biscuits, waffles, chocolate, sweets, marmalade, caramel and other confectionery products) were exported to China.

The cross-border e-commerce experimental center is located in the central part of Lianyungang Free Trade Zone, with a total investment of 20 million RMB and an area of about 6,000 square meters. This exhibition space and trading platform integrates a bonded (duty-free) exhibition, merchandise trade and customs clearance services, including an offline exhibition center, an e-commerce center and a consumption area. Thus, consumers can purchase high-quality imported goods in a more convenient way and at a lower price.

Thanks to the active support of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the PRC, practical results have already been achieved in the framework of trade, economic and logistics cooperation between Lianyungang and Uzbekistan. The experimental center for cross-border e-commerce will play an important role in building an international platform for trade, economic and logistics cooperation, as well as in stimulating the development of the Sino-Uzbek international trade, economic and logistics system.

Lianyungang City is the eastern port of the new Asia-Europe Transcontinental Bridge and at the same time one of fourteen coastal cities that the government has declared the first open cities. In addition, the Chinese government has also designated its status as a new port city in the East China region of the PRC with modern industry, foreign trade and tourism.
