Monument to Shamahmudov’s family erected in new place

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A monument to the family of Shaahmed Shamahmudov, who sheltered 15 children of different nationalities during the World War II, was erected in the center of Tashkent.

The monument, which is named as the Monument of Friendship, was installed in Tashkent in 1982. In 2008, it was relocated to one of district of Tashkent city.

The monument to the family of Shaahmed Shamahmudov was relocated from Tashkent suburbs to Friendship Park (former Babur Park).

The monument was installed near the Peace Bell in Friendship Park.
