Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the pavilion of national cultural centers located in the Yakkasaray district of Tashkent.
More than 130 nationalities and ethnic groups live in Uzbekistan, and 157 national cultural centers operate across the country. The promotion of national cultures, strengthening interethnic harmony, and fostering tolerance among youth remain key priorities of state policy.
The pavilion, built in the Dustlik Park near the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries, reflects the country’s cultural diversity. Its architecture incorporates elements representing 22 nationalities. The site features yurts of the Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Turkmen, and Bashkir peoples, as well as two-story “houses of friendship” showcasing Korean, Belarusian, Ukrainian, Greek, German, Dungan, Polish, Jewish, Georgian, Armenian, Tatar and Crimean Tatar, Uyghur, Turkish, Tajik, Chinese, Russian, and Azerbaijani cultures.
The interiors are designed in accordance with national traditions, and exhibitions include costumes, musical instruments, decorative and applied arts, and historical models reflecting the cultural heritage of different peoples.
During the Navruz celebrations, the pavilion is filled with a special atmosphere highlighting the values of friendship and harmony. The head of state ознакомился with the activities of each cultural house, spoke with participants, and noted the significant contribution of national cultural centers to organizing nationwide celebrations.
During the meetings, appreciation was expressed to representatives of various nationalities whose work and patriotism contribute to strengthening the country’s socio-economic potential.
