Mirziyoyev Reviews Digital Control Center at AGMK

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the operations of the Digital Control Center established at the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Plant (AGMK).

The center coordinates production across all three copper-enrichment factories of the plant, ensuring continuous monitoring and improved operational efficiency. Using modern digital systems, Siemens PCS 7 and AVEVA PI Vision platforms, large monitoring screens, and video surveillance, processes such as crushing, flotation, thickening, filtration, reagent and process water supply, as well as workshop and transport operations, are controlled in real time.

More than 20,000 pieces of equipment are integrated into a unified information system, and artificial intelligence detects anomalies, enabling prompt decision-making.

President Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of AI for increasing production efficiency and implementing resource-saving technologies, particularly in water management. Plans were presented to digitalize all production stages—from ore extraction to finished products—with extensive AI-based solutions over the next five years.

Special attention is being paid to digitalizing mining sites using 80 years of accumulated geological and surveying data. The “Digital Mine” system allows precise planning of mining operations on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Monitoring tire pressure and temperature on haul trucks via sensors has extended tire life by 14%.

The President stressed the need to train specialists in modern digital technologies and actively patent scientific and technological solutions at every stage of production. Patents are seen as opportunities for new technologies, production directions, and global market entry. In 2026, the plant aims to identify promising areas for patent activity and actively implement them.
