Mirziyoyev Attends at Navruz Celebrations in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A ceremonial event dedicated to the nationwide holiday of Navruz was held at the Yangi Uzbekistan Park in the capital, attended by the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The head of state delivered a speech, emphasizing the special significance of this year, as Navruz is being celebrated alongside the sacred holiday of Eid al-Fitr.
The President noted that these days, symbolizing the awakening of nature and spiritual renewal, unite people around the values of kindness, unity, and prosperity. His greetings were addressed not only to citizens of the country but also to compatriots living abroad.
In his address, Mirziyoyev stressed that the state prioritizes ensuring a достойный life for every citizen, regardless of nationality, language, or religion. This commitment is reflected in this year’s celebration motto: “Glorifying Navruz means glorifying humanity.”
The head of state spoke about large-scale efforts aimed at implementing the principles of the New Uzbekistan across all regions of the country. These include job creation, poverty reduction, strengthening social protection, and the construction of modern enterprises, infrastructure, housing, and social facilities. He noted that the scope of these transformations will continue to expand.
Special attention was given to the role of farmers and dehkan households, whose work ensures the country’s food security. The President expressed gratitude for their contribution and reaffirmed continued comprehensive support from the state.
A separate part of the speech focused on youth. Mirziyoyev подчеркнул that the younger generation is becoming the driving force behind change and achievements across various sectors, from science and education to business and IT. He stated that young people are called upon to become the creators of a Third Renaissance and urged them to value peace, development opportunities, and continuous self-improvement. The state, in turn, will create the necessary conditions for their growth.
The ceremony also highlighted the importance of the mahalla institution. In the Year of Mahalla and Society Development, large-scale programs are being implemented to strengthen social stability, address local issues, and promote the principles of humanism and justice. The President congratulated mahalla workers on their professional holiday and wished them success.
The speech emphasized the importance of interethnic harmony and social cohesion. Representatives of more than 130 nationalities living in Uzbekistan celebrate Navruz as one family, forming a strong foundation for the country’s development. The President underscored the need to further strengthen interfaith dialogue and cooperation in Central Asia to ensure regional peace and stability.
Mirziyoyev also extended congratulations to ambassadors of foreign states and representatives of international organizations attending the event on the occasion of the International Day of Navruz, wishing their countries well-being and prosperity.
Addressing citizens, the President called for preserving and enriching national traditions, improving cities and villages, protecting natural resources, and strengthening the spirit of good neighborliness. He expressed confidence that social unity will help build a new future for the country.
The celebrations continued with a concert program featuring folklore ensembles and performers. Guests also enjoyed traditional games and performances by masters of askia. The ceremony was attended by representatives of state and public organizations, parliament and government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, and guests from across the regions.
