Mirziyoyev and Tokayev Discuss Strengthening Alliance
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation on March 16 with Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kazakhstan.
At the beginning of the call, the Uzbek leader congratulated his Kazakh counterpart on the successful referendum on the draft of a new Constitution. Mirziyoyev noted that the adopted amendments would provide a strong legal foundation and additional momentum for Kazakhstan’s sustainable development while enhancing its international standing.
During the conversation, the leaders discussed key issues related to further strengthening Uzbek–Kazakh relations of strategic partnership and alliance, particularly in the context of implementing agreements reached at the highest level.
Special attention was given to advancing joint projects and programs in trade and economic cooperation, investment, transport, and cultural and humanitarian exchanges, as well as other priority areas of bilateral collaboration.
The presidents also exchanged views on major international and regional issues and reviewed the schedule of upcoming bilateral and multilateral events.
At the conclusion of the conversation, the two leaders exchanged warm greetings on the occasion of the upcoming holidays of Ramazan Hayit and Navruz, wishing the brotherly peoples of both countries peace, prosperity, and continued development.
