Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 3 November 2019, the Japanese government decided to award the former Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Japan, Mr. Mirsobit Achilov with an order on behalf of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan for his services in developing bilateral relations and strengthening friendship between Japan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Mr. Mirsobit Achilov served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 2001 to 2008. During his diplomatic activities, Mr. Achilov made a significant contribution to the development of partnerships between Japan and Uzbekistan. So, he played an important role in preparing the visits of the first President of Uzbekistan Karimov to Japan in 2002 and the Japanese Prime Minister Koizumi to Uzbekistan in 2006, which greatly strengthened our friendship and bilateral relations.
In addition, Mr. Achilov was a great supporter of the Central Asia + Japan dialogue. When this format was still under development, Mr. Achilov, realizing its importance and prospects, was actively engaged in its promotion in the government of Uzbekistan, due to which, now this format has become an important platform for Japanese diplomacy in the Central Asian direction, including in the Uzbek one.
Thus, the efforts of Mr. Achilov contributed to the development of bilateral relations and the strengthening of friendship between our states.
The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star was established in 1875. The badge of the order has a red enamel cabochon in the center, symbolizing the sun, depicted on the national flag of Japan. The cabochon is surrounded by 32 narrow double beams coated with white enamel and forming an eight-pointed star. The pendant is made in the shape of a coat of arms of paulownia with green leaves and purple flowers.
